A fitting tribute to one of metal's greatest guitarists The untimely passing of Dimebag Darrell, one of heavy metal's TOP 5 axemen of all time, just a few years ago has only increased his relevance in the world of rock'n'roll. His absence pretty much signaled the end of American Heavy Metal as we knew it. Gone is his unbelievable mastery of the guitar stick, but his legacy lives on in this collection. Not to say the other 3 members of Pantera were not significant contributors, but the playing of Dimebag (in my humble opinion) was the most prolific offering in the guitar world since the emergence of Eddie Van Halen in the 80's.
Of course he had destructive riffing down to an art form (see: '5 Minutes Alone'), but he crafted absolutely beautiful licks in 'Cemetery Gates.' Bottom line, if you love hard rock or enjoy exemplary musicianship, you owe it to yourself to listen to this collection of his greatest works.
Pantera – The Best of Pantera: Far Beyond the Great Southern Cowboys' Vulgar Hits! Album Zip Download (173.48MB) Songs are compressed with best possible compression.
Is it definitive? To the average person, Philip Anselmo, Dime, Rex, and Vince might seem like four of Hell's minions, and to that end they might be right. But delving deeper, we see that this was just another 90's rock band that was too special. The self destructive nature of these four beasts were on display early and often once they hit the charts, while on tours, and in the eye of the media and Pantera fans alike. But I digress.
This is a great setlist, and the DVD just sweetens the deal. If you like Metal, and I mean REAL metal (cough, screamo.gag!) then grab this guy right away. I haven't listened to Pantera on a regular basis in awhile, but nothing beats popping this bad boy in and immediately reveling in the Tom Morello-like CFH intro! Yes, they ARE taking over this town!

Looking to roar away after an argument with his girlfriend, he couldnt start the car. So he shot it. With Italian looks, American muscle, German engineering and Argentinian origin, the De Tomaso Pantera already had a cool international story before being shot by the King.
Alejandro de Tomaso, the spoiled racecar-driving son of a prominent politician, fled Argentina for Italy in 1955 after being implicated in a plot to overthrow the Argentinian president, Juan Per n. Italian for Panther, the Pantera was De Tomasos second car, designed in Italy by Ghia and looking every bit the Italian exotic.
A mid-engine car, the Panteras muscle is supplied by an all-American Ford 351 Cleveland V8, and represents the automakers attempt to bring sexy back after losing the Cobra. The cherry on top of the complexity sundae, power reaches the tires through a five-speed manual transaxle made by the German builder of gears for Zeppelins and other airships.
This particular 1971 De Tomaso Pantera, chassis #1726, has been restored and modified. Finished in Rosso over black leather, the interior features an upgraded Pioneer/Sony audio system. The bright red exterior benefits from full bodywork, a respray, and an eye-catching delta wing. The engine bay, itself a work of art, was repaired with steel then shaved and filled, painted and polished, and dressed up by a polished transaxle case and chrome cross members. The engine features a Demon carburetor, MSD ignition, roller tappet lifters, big camshaft, polished Edelbrock intake manifold, finned Pantera air cleaner cover, and finned De Tomaso valve covers. The upgraded exhaust rumbles like an earthquake, warning theres some real bite to this cars bark. Wilwood brakes slow your roll on wheels with center caps sporting the colors of the Argentinian flag and the T-shaped logo based on the cattle brand of Alejandros ranching ancestors.
Now its your turn to join the story. Feast your eyes on this car in person. Start it.dont shoot it! Hear it and drive it. Theres nothing like it.
It could be yours, but not if you dawdle. This is an amazing Pantera. I have known Rob for a number of years. His workmanship and attention to detail is incredible. This has to be one of the best Panteras in the country.
It is not stock, it has been upgraded in many ways. Rob bought this car in California in 2008 and spent five years restoring it. The Pantera had this beautiful paint job done in 2005 before Rob bought it. When Rob received this car it was not as advertised. (We have all been there, at least I have.) Rob bought it with inspecting the Pantera. It was not drivable.
So five years later this stunning Pantera came out. Rob took it to the Italian concourse, and not only won first place for the Best Pantera he also won Best of Show.
To really understand this car you need to go through all of our photos on our webpage seeing and reading all the information to know how well this Pantera was redone. The Pantera was a steel unibody design, the first instance of De Tomaso using this construction technique. The Pantera logo included a version of Argentinas flag turned on its side with a T-shaped symbol that was the brand used by De Tomasos Argentinian cattle ranching ancestors. The car debuted in Modena in March 1970 and was presented at the 1970 New York Motor Show a few weeks later. Approximately a year later the first production Panteras were sold, and production was increased to three per day. The first 1971 Panteras were powered by a Ford 351 cu in (5.8 L) V8 engine producing a 330 HP. The high torque provided by the Ford engine reduced the need for excessive gear changing at low speeds: this made the car much less demanding to drive in urban conditions than many of the locally built competitor products.
A ZF transaxle wasmated to the 351 and allows the Pantera to reach 60 MPH in just 5.5 Seconds. Power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes and rack and pinion steering were all standard equipment as well. This freshly restored 1971 Pantera includes its factory tool kit and space saver spare tire. It also has factory headers and factory radio delete. The 351 Cleveland Engine and ZF Transaxle have been rebuilt and a new Clutch has been installed. This car runs and drives very well.
The interior has been completely redone to original specification with the Dash, Seats, Center Console, Door Panels and Steering wheel being re-wrapped with new leather. The A/C was charged, blows ice cold and is ready for summer. Pantera values have been steadily rising and with less than 30,000 original miles, this superb example will not last long. Coupling Ford power and reliability with stunning Italian bodywork, the package was without question an enthusiast’s dream.
Beautiful to behold and thrilling to drive on public roads, yet equally competitive in motorsport (as well as historic racing today), it is the quintessential Italian–American hybrid. The car debuted in Modena in 1970 and was presented at the New York Motor Show a few weeks after; the first production Panteras were sold about a year later with roughly three cars built per day. In 1975, Ford ceased interest in importing the Pantera, but production continued on. In 1980, DeTomaso introduced the GT5 with a wide-body styling, better brakes, larger wheels and tires, and an overall higher level of comfort, performance and exoticism. With only 224 original GT5s produced, this particular example was sold new to the original owner B. Zale in Mclean, VA.
With only 7146 kilometers since new, this car is powered by the 351 CI V-8 engine and ZF 5-speed manual transmission accompanied by power brakes and rack-and-pinion steering. Finished in red, this muscular Pantera looks the business with a fiberglass delta wing and refinished Campagnolo wheels. The interior is upholstered in black leather and appointed with burlwood trim, black Veglia gauges with green numerics and thick carpet. Pantera’s have long inspired enthusiastic driving and for good reason, as their mid-engine placement, powerful drivetrain, flat cornering ability and driving position ensure the car will not only go quickly and fast but, do so with a high level of stability and control. An exotic answer to many sports cars of the era, Pantera brought a unique flavor to the Ford lineup, enticing an upscale, young, wealthier clientele to Ford showrooms. This impressive and important Pantera comes fully documented with known ownership history, De Tomaso order form and registration paperwork.
Rare and extremely unique, the opportunity to acquire a Pantera GT5 is a treasure. Additional Details:.
